1. Having houses. Mē ‘e ‘are‘are ‘aere tō reira ko taua ngā‘ī ra ia. If there are houses about, that‘ll be the place.

2. Overhanging (of projecting rocks). ‘E toka ‘are‘are ‘ua taua tokā ra, kāre rava koe e rari i te ua. It’s an overhanging rock, you won’t get rained on at all.
